Green Cargo receives continued trust from St1 in a new five-year agreement plus two option years. The agreement currently covers exchange contracts and transports between Gothenburg Pölsebo and Karlstad and Jönköping respectively.
A partnership where the focus on high quality and secure transportation has resulted in almost 11,000,000 tonnes of freight being delivered from St1 in Gothenburg to depots in Jönköping and Karlstad. Through 25 years of rail transportation rather than road or sea freight, St1 and Green Cargo have reduced climate impact by a total of 114,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
Close collaboration and high quality were two important parameters leading to an extended agreement and the continued collaboration between Green Cargo and St1 for two more years. On 4 November 2020, Green Cargo will have transported goods for St1 for 25 years – a major win for the environment as well as for safer roads.
Green Cargo and St1 have had a close partnership for 20 years. They are now extending the agreement that enters into force on January 1, 2018, for a further three years with a two-year option to extend. Transportation is via Green Cargo’s single-commodity trains, which provide a moving logistics warehouse between the refinery and the depot.
